Columbia River M16-Z - M16-04 Zytel - Razor Sharp Edge
Instead of aluminum handles, Columbia River uses tough, textured Zytel scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner interframe. It is over-build for rigidity, using precision machined stainless steel back spacers. And the handle is assembled with superior offset Torx fasteners.
The handle is slightly heftier and wider than the aluminum build M16, but it is exceptionally rigid. To some people, it actually fills the hand better.
Tough AUS 4 high carbon stainless steel is used for the blades to give greater everyday utility. All models feature the Carson Flipper, which is not only an aid to opening the blade, especially when wearing gloves, but acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.
The hefty M16-04Z and 14Z Big Dogs offer larger dual grind Tanto-style blades. These are full size working knives suited to large hands and heavy duty tasks.
Incorporated is the patented Lake And Walker Knife Safety (LAWKS) into all models, which converts these folders into virtual fixed blades when engaged.
All styles have lubrous washers and a removable corrosion resistant stainless steel clothing/gear clip.
